WE HAVE A NEW VAN

Well, it is not exactly new... it is a 2002 Ford Windstar with over 100,000 miles but it is in very good shape and it should serve the children at the House of Dreams for many years to come.  This was made possible by a large donation from Janice (from CA) and her coworkers, as well as the donations of many others.  It is paid for and licensed in Marylou and Dalia's name and has insurance good in both countries.  This was a major major undertaking, and everyone is very thankful.  Our Father, with the help of those who serve Him, has provided.

Dalia's look says it all.  She was humbled and grateful as Marylou handed her the keys.

All wanted to join in the festivities

and, afterall, the van is really for all of them!

Glee and I had the wonderful pleasure of caring for the children while Dalia and ML, Jack and John went to Yuma to make the purchase, buy the license and do all the other stuff necessary to make this moment happen.

Caring for children that speak a different language really was no different than caring for kids at home.  I have to admit, it has been a long time since I changed a stinky diaper, but I managed.  Smiles and hugs and openness translates in all languages ... but, just in case, Dalia's brother was there to translate if needed.  And of course, the Holy Spirit was there to guide us.  What a joy the whole day was!

And as we waited in line, late in the day, we encountered "the apron lady".  Louise, do you recognize the material that you sent south for her?  She was so happy to show off her work.  This lady works the line (of cars leaving Algodones) everyday.  She is up at 6 feeding kids after sewing for three to four hours after the kids go to bed at night.  She has four children and her apron sales keep the family feed and clothed.  A hard working lady!

Speaking of hard working, today John, Mike and Jack went to the house to "get a few things done".  These are just some of what they accomplished:
* fixed leaky toilet
* put up a fan in the dining room
* caulked shower and changed shower heads
* tried to find and fix a few other leaks
* got propane for the water heater
* got hugs and gave hugs
* watched the kids while Dalia DROVE them to school
* fixed the door
* put up a clock
and I am probably forgetting a few things they told me.  Overall, a productive day.

Till next time, remember to listen when God whispers and respond when He nudges.
