February - A Month of Love and Laughter

It has been a busy month with many trips into The House in Mexico.  Old and new friends have visited.  Many donations have been received and put to good use.  I have to admit, that in the rush of the last month, I have even left my camera at home a couple of times... unbelievable!  But, I do have a few to share with you - some from way back in January.

If you have not been to this part of the world, this is a look at the American Canal and the fence that separates the U.S. and Mexico.

This is Los Algodones from the American side.  You can see what a small community it is and how the watertower dominates the skyline.

Thea and her mom came from Wisconsin to spend some time at the house.  She loved the sand dunes and the fact that some of the Jedi movies were filmed there.

The weather was chilly on some of the mornings and when the children played outside, their jackets stayed on.

It does not take long to fall in love with the children.

Jerry and his wife Donna and sister-in-law came over from Mesa for a day.

Marge came to help with food prep one day.

I never know what I am going to see when I get the camera back from the kids.

Tether ball was hung from a tree and each took turns one day.

Donations made it possible for Marylou to do some much needed shopping.

When Sharon visited, we put her to work completing the project started last year.

Maria visited frequently and we all enjoy her company.

Kids had the camera again.

Laughter and teasing and lots of love

Someone donated this vehicle and it wasn't long before the gals took it out for a spin.

Mary and Ralph visited from Casa Grande.

This little fellow nearly falls asleep before every meal and sometimes in the middle of one - all the love and hugs and play is hard work!

We prepared for and celebrated the joyous occasion of Jack's 80th birthday this month.

Adrienne and Rich visited that day and enjoyed the festivities.

I have to tell you the story of this young fellow.  His mom is a hairdresser and he spent the first year of his life in the salon with her.  So, when he saw the soapy water for making bubbles, he didn't grab a wand, he immediately started to give himself a shampoo...

Now I could tell you a story about this lady, but so can all of you readers.  There is just something about The House, and the kids there, that bring out the youngster in all of us.

Jack heard happy birthday in Spanish and in English.

He got he a brand new sombrero from Delia and her brothers.

He got lots of hugs that day; there was definitely love in the air.

Jack got his first very own piñata and he attacked it with joy!

There were party treats to hand out to the kids.

This is the first time I have had my picture taken with Jack - we must have been telling stories....

"Iron Man" Jack with his "Family" in Mexico.

A day or so later, someone donated books in Spanish, and the adults and children loved them.

We did make hearts this month,

but mainly we laughed and loved.

Till next time, please remember to listen when God whispers to you and respond when He nudges.  Rejoice! God loves all his children!
