Familiar faces visited more often and smiled a lot more.
"Old" friends came for a few days and quickly joined in the fun. The couch is outside now since the weather is warm.
Love this drawing of Mike and I ... in the eyes of this young lady, we are the same size...
Teasing,
and passionate expressions
made each day feel like a day with family. This little guy didn't do it - nope he is Mr. Innocent...
Hugs and photo ops with the regular crew and special visitors.
Delia found time to make gourmet meals which were enjoyed by all of us.
We painted ornaments appropriate for the season. Even the youngest did a super job of painting.
We used crayons to make designs on eggs and then colored them. For lunch that day, we had hard boiled eggs (kids don't love em), cucumbers (a few kids eat em but only with hot sauce), celery with peanut butter (Kids eat only pb and leave the rest) and strips of sweet peppers (no one likes em). So after my nutritious lunch failed, I went in and grabbed the peanut butter and bread - now that was a seller!
Little youngest role may soon go from the boy to the girl... he's not sure its okay...
Frequently the children check out the map - sorry Marylou but I couldn't find a Canadian component.
Yep, give me peanut butter any day - especially with fruit punch.
I'm proud to announce that before every meal, no matter what the food, the children now say a very simple prayer. They learned it quickly and take turns leading the group.
We did bubbles one day and the older ones joined efforts and created a massive bubble.
What colors were reflected.
And then it was Monday and time for the Easter Party. Delia went to a neighboring village and got a great Peppa Pig piñata - Peppa is the kids' favorite cartoon on TV during quiet time in the afternoon.
The day started out cool so we spent some time inside.
Was a true joy to have this young gal join us for the day.
Not easy to capture this one for a hug...
Now this takes skill...
Mike's little buddy joined us. He is scheduled for a surgery on April 9th so keep him in your prayers please.
His sister is much more quiet and still beautiful.
Delia's little man joined others in play and showed some facial expression - a very good sign.
Sandy was there and quickly became a favorite with the kids.
Finally, it was time to hang Peppa in the tree and begin the festivities.
Lining up from youngest to oldest, they waited almost patiently for their turn.
Better move quickly Delia, this little fellow has the stick in hand.
And then finally, there was candy. Peppa was a tough pig to crack.
While children played with all those wonderful donated toys and enjoyed each others' company, lunch was prepared.
Marylou and Jack may not have been there in person but they were certainly on the minds of us all and these great characters adorn the wall.
This time, my meal choice was better - corn dogs, chips and salsa and pickles were all well received
The there was lots of excitement over the cake.
After lunch there was a group photo
and more fun.
(Oh the things these kids get me to do.)
And all too soon it was time to say farewell to some of our special guests.
He Is Risen and we are joyful.
Don't forget to listen when God whispers a message just to you and respond when he nudges you to action.
